One of my colleague had his car in for a service today, his loan vehicle was an electric model, perfect for small island living - max range 80 miles on a charge. On a completely unrelated note the following words wafted to me from the TV as I was typing this:What kind of a world do we live in where one man would steal another man's Battle Ostritch?
Some street photography was on the cards today, however this was just so vibrant and colourful, it became the only choice for my blip. For those of you who worried......Yes Cheryl got her Leica back.
When I walk down the High Street I occasionally think about how it has changed since I was a youn boy. There are still a few old familiers: The Post Office, Newsagaents, Baker, others less so.I was reminded of this today as I was walking past a Lloyds Bank branch on Guernsey, when I noticed the glass in the windows.
Out for Dinner tonight with a Client at the GUernsey equivalent of Gaucho.I have rarely had such a lovely meal in such convivial company. The bottles of fine red wine didn’t hurt the atmosphere either.Neither did the Sticky Toffee Pudding!
New viewpoint to the view from the apartment.Left to right we have Herm, Jethou, Breckou and Sark
As can be plainly seen, I have temprarily moved to a new apartment. It is up 1 flight, and hence has a better view and perspective on the various Channel Islands.

Trying to recapture some photo mojo......And I enjoyed it!
On the walk to work.
So good they labeled it.
Guernsey has been a little battered in recent months by the weather. In some places there are still sand bags out.

I love the geometry of this bridge, I also love people who helpfully step out of the way when I am taking a photo.I much preferred their original position, it was much more relaced and natural.Ah well!
Borrowing Cheryl's seven5 system Big Stopper, I tried a few hand held shots to see if I wanted to steal the Tripod also (I was too lazy to walk back to the car for mine!)I snapped this for a little fun, but it was also far more entertaining than the other shots.
Back BlipNothing is moving today, not the air, the fog nor the plains.I hope this improves by tomorrow.
Back BlipExcept this is Guernsey
Back Blip,Pancakes! The Aftermath.
Back Blip05:40 on the morning after the Englan Wales game at Twickenham and I am off to work again.

Guernsey Harbour
Any higher and it will be leaking onto the street!
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
Chez (GeekMeek) was still feeling under the weather today so I broke out the big lights so that we could play indoors.I think her shot is better, but still...
Today we visited The Photography Show to top up on essentials, to look at new toys and to meet with old friends.
Guernsey Harbour, the calm after the storms.
What gorgeous weather!
Cheryl and I decided to make sweet sushi together tonight, from scratch. We had been on a Sushi course last weekend, and were thus full of confidence.I dont think it looks too bad, and it tasted awesome! The menu included Inside out rolls and Nigiri, both Salmon and Tuna.
No Fishing
...possibly not....but then, you never know. What I do know is that we had fun on Bognor Beach
...and I was!But then it was the last day, so it didn’t matter!
(I'm running out of titles I think)
Subtle Sun
Not quite a Sunrise
Does this picture say something, or is it just coincidence?
I made these! We went to Sushi School in Hammersmith today, Maki, Nigiri and California Rolls were made and consumed.Off now to eat the leftovers.
Looking towards the harbour in Saint Peter Port
This morning was an early start. Up to Bushy Park for a Blipmeet organised by GeekMeek.Somewhere in this image you can see:Draco, PaulaK, GeekMeek, 55Daisies, SueL7, Shaaamie, 1bluebell, NickyR, DawnP, Adrian and GarriI will add other names as GeekMeek identifies them!
A back blip from the balcony of the apartment.
Guernsey has been experiencing weather recently. This HDR is an attempt to show visually the heavyness of the Wind and Rain.
A new hill, a new view.
Looking into the Members Room at the Tate Modern, on the South Bank.
Today we are moving out of the apartment on Guernsey. This has been my view for a while, what will the next one be like, i wonder?
I took a different walk to the office today. Here I was about one third of the way down 'Constitution Steps', when I came across this Hotel. There is, as far as I can see, no other way of accessing it.103 Steps down, or 60 up...What a choice to make!
Too lazy to catch the Sun Rise
I found out about this game from a friend of mine.It was created through a Kickstarter project, but instead of Copyright it is under the Creative Commons licensing, so as long as you dont sell it you can create your own cards, etc.You can even download the PDF's for the game and its varients from their website!
Yet again, far too early in the morning, but still someone was here first!
Super Sushi in Covent Garden, at Sticks'N'Sushi
Today we were visiting Pagham, to see my mother in law.As we were driving, the mist started to lift, so of course we had to stop...

We were in Bushy Park again today, the Sun was surprisingly unimpeded by cloud or rain so the filter had to come out.It also gave Cheryl a chance to user her new seven5 kit.
Sometimes having the ear of the boss is a good thing.Today it is an emergency blip.

Honestly, there is a hotel at the top of these steps. My guess is that they cater to Mountain GoatsPS - Not a sunrise.
Chance Meetings: Morning Max!
...Actually there has not been much rain on Guernsey all week, however today was almost tropical!
Laundry DayLaundered on the Island, stays on the Island!Less luggage to take home.
First night back on the Island, so Castle Cornet again.
Out walking with my lovely wife Cheryl, making the most of my last day at home before a week away.
...Well less a party and more of a thank you to two of the people who have helped us with our photography in 2013.Thank you AnnH and AlanR
Constant movement and endless fun on the slope.
New Years Day Sushi
It just looked so lovely today!
The pre-Christmas roses are a little desiccated
The entrance hall to the V&A, taken while avoiding the rain.
Today was a visit to my Mum's in Harwich.I took my Christmas Presents with me (a set of studio lights and a Black Velvet popup background)Unfortunatly I forgot the Flash remote, so everything was cord controlled. This is my brother Gordon and I, guerning and generally mucking around with the lights.
People watching in the Post-Christmas sales.
It is Boxing Day and what a traditional Christmas we have had so far:1. Too much Food! (Check)2. Broken Glass (Check)3. Family Argument (Check)4. Tearful Reconciliation (Check)5. Leftovers for Breakfast (Oh Very Yes)6. Afternoon nap (Currently in Progress)
only 4 days until home
Nearly time to turn out the lights in the Appartment.
... or perhaps Oil, Vinagre and Candel.
Empty Tube

Last day in Guernsey until next week
First no Sunset, Now no Sunrise. The blasted Shepherds wont know whether to be happy or sad! Next it will be cows not lieing down when it is about to rain!
...today the sun cam up, shepherds were not warned.
I might start rating the sunrise, but perhaps not.
... There is often somthing more interesting behind you.The spots have been sponsored by Cath Kidson (They really have been!)
This morning in Guernsey the sun rose without the theatrics of the past few days.
Had to do as an HDR as I did not have any Grads with me, but it was a beautiful sunrise over St Peter's Port this morning
I like it.Outside the Aviva Building in London

... at our favourite restaurant. The Pier at Harwich is a lovely hotel (we were married there in 2002) which has a great restaurant. We managed to bring some friends to Harwich for Food and Photography.
I was crossing Tower Bridge when I spotted this pair of gentlemen. My only concern was their socks.
The next train home is over there!
Mockup of my final mounted panel, pre cutting and to scale.
This is not what I want to see when I go for a coffee!
My photography cards arrived today, as did a Blurb book I put together to document for my brother how I thinned and selected my LRPS panel. So a bit of an ego trip.Sorry!
Blasted Cat fur gets everywhere!
Visited the in-laws today, but much later than usual.Fortunately this allowed us to have dinner at 'The Cricketers' near Duncton.Superb meal!(and thanks Auntie Sandra for the treat)
…Even if you are a statue, can be dificult in London.Nobody seems to notice you!
Tonight we attended a private viewing of the RPS SIG exhibition. The Vice President of the RPS was also there, as were Cheryl and My freshly minted LRPS certificates.A Vice Presidential presentation ensued! It was completely unexpected. We were not expecting our L Panels to be ratified untill next week.
…and another grey day in town.
Catching up, because I am lazy!0915 in the morning, just 1 hour to go before our panels were Judged.…Thank goodness we BOTH passed!
Catching up, because I am lazy!I have a vague (and possibly erroneous) recolection that these bollards are used to mark the boundaries of the City of London.
Catching up, because I am lazy!I took this image from the car, on the morning after the first really nice Sunday of the year. The previous evening this beautiful green looked more like Brighton Beach than Richmond Green. This morning it looked more like a rubbish dump (although at this angle you can barely see the devistation)Is it really that difficult to pack up your own rubbish Richmond?
Refreshingly V&A
In the garden taking pictures of the cat, only the cat wants to cuddle with Chez!
When taking a long exposure, always remember to close or cover the eyepiece to prevent this happening!
Not sure what to do now the good weather is here.
… and possibly some dusting, too!20 images to mount before Monday. Thankfully I have already cut the 40x50 cm boards.I don't think I am going to be seeing the sun much this bank holiday.
…or undecided?
…Multi exposure, inspired by my wife.
Yet another iteration in the game of 'Lets put together an L PanelThis was the last but 1 pass through and, in the words of Eric Morcome (sort of):"Contains all of the right images, just not necessarily in the right order!"
What a work of art!
The same lad is, aparently both walking into and out of this image.Unfortunatly he appears to have suffeder some structural integrity failures in the middle of the image!.
I believe that this one is colloquially known as 'The Cheese Grater'
We were in Greenwich today. The sun was out, and Berlin had temporarily relocated to the Royal Naval College, as had the Muppets and Ricky Gervais. In an attempt to avoid the tourists we went to visit Cutty Sark.A friend of ours had leant us a 16mm Fish Eye lens to play with so what better subject than a fishes eye view of the floating vessel.
Walking around Greenwich thisafternoon after the RPS DVJ AGM (what a lot of TLAs) we came across Berlin.Only the bus stop in the background gives any hint that we had not been transported by aliens.Having said that, the Muppets were aparently to be seen occasionally. (http://www.newsshopper.co.uk/news/10336993.Greenwich_becomes_Berlin_for_The_Muppets___Again__movie/)
A strange movement, there is.
